Making Icons at the

Tao Fong Shan Christian Center

The art division of the Tao Fong Shan Christian Center in Hong Kong will be having an icon painting course from August 1-7, 2013. It will be led by Sister Esther, an experienced iconographer, tutor and president of the British Association of Iconographers. The Tao Fong Shan Christian Center was founded in 1930 by the Norwegian missionary Karl Ludvig Reichelt. It was initially located at Nanjing, China but was later moved to Shantin, Hong Kong due to the Chinese civil war. It aims " to foster and develop contextual Christian spirituality, art, and liturgy, and encourage interfaith and cultural exchange and dialogue".

 

They are currently working on a book with Ms. Fan Pu, a member artist of the ACAA; that they hope to publish by the end of the year.
