Image 35 brings book reviews of two books about Indian Christian art- "Christian Painting in India Through the Centuries" and the "Christian Art in India". It also features New Zealand artist, Colin McCahon and Korean artists: Nyung-souk Kwon, Chung-ji Lee & Shin-ja Lee.

On the cover is Colin McCahon's "Easter Morning" from the Auckland City Art Gallery in New Zealand.

This is the first "Black & White" issue of Image magazine. Doing away with color was not just an economic move it also emphasized certain characteristics of Asian art- simplicity, the artist's relationship with the canvas and the "sound" of the artwork.
In this issue are ink paintings from Japan and China, and the Kalamkari paintings from India.

On the cover is Hyo-sook Kim's sculpture "Cross".

Image 37 celebrates the 10th year anniversary of the ACAA. It features works by New Zealand artist- Robert Gauldie, who unusually depicts Christ as an oil drum and Modern Maori art. Also in this issue are Egai Fernandez's description of his visits to Christian artists and events within Asia.

On the cover is the painting Miracle at Cana by Frank Wesley.
