Fr. Jason K. Dy, S.J.

Fr. Jason Dy, S.J. was born in the Philippines on 1977. Ever since he was young, Fr. Jason has been inclined towards the arts. His exploration in art continued through high school, where he entered art contest, workshops and designed liturgical materials. But it was with the Jesuits, where his art really developed. The brothers encouraged him to cultivate his talent by taking art classes and workshops, visiting and joining art exhibits and making book illustrations and layouts. His desire to communicate his message led him to explore different art media like graphic art, collage, photography, digital art and mixed media.

After Fr. Jason was ordained on 2010, he used his artistic experience in his pastoral ministry as the parochial vicar of Sacred Heart parish in Cebu City. Most of his works are conceptual in form but the content is influenced by social realists. Despite the local church’s preference for figurative art, his works are still well received. More infromation and updates abou Fr. Jason can be viewed on his blog at http://batikbatiknakariktan.blogspot.com/
